DMC Team Recognized for Stroke Alert Response
Jun 24, 2021The Doctors Medical Center Stroke Committee recently recognized some of our providers that had the quickest door to IV thrombolytic therapy administration time (Door To Needle) during a Stroke Alert: Dr. Robert Barandica (ED Physician), Jessica Turpitt (ED RN) and Tracee Reyes (NCCU RN).
Doctors Medical Center continues to improve stroke care in our community and a prompt Door To Needle time is one of the important metrics that impacts patient care outcomes. The sooner we can safely administer the clot busting medication, the better the chance the patient has toward recovery. Time is brain.
Thank you to our team members that care for stroke patients every day. It takes a dedicated team to provide excellent stroke care.
