Doctors Medical Center Chaplain Participates in Donor Network West Webinar on Organ Donation

Doctors Medical Center Chaplain Jeremy Brown participated in a recent webinar discussion hosted by Donor Network West in observance of National Donor Sabbath.
The webinar – titled “In Times Like These: Faith at the Bedside” – took place on Monday, Nov. 9, 2020. Participants heard from hospital chaplains and spiritual leaders about how organ and tissue donation is viewed in the faith-based community.
Chaplain Jeremy Brown spoke about Doctors Medical Center’s Honor Walk program and the importance of organ donation.
“Organ donation is a powerful thing and I see it firsthand in the hospital. When I’m able to be part of a case, I’m reminded that organ donation is such a powerful demonstration of God’s redemptive power. He can turn something heartbreaking into something beautiful,” Brown said during the webinar. “We know there is tremendous loss and tremendous grief in these cases, and it’s a long road. But at the same time, there is also a sense of hope that the family knows their loved one’s life is not ending and in many ways, their gift will continue their legacy for years to come.”
