We are one of only 27 Comprehensive Stroke Centers in California, and the only one in the Central Valley.

Doctors Medical Center Junior Volunteers Awarded $24,000 in Scholarships

Doctors Medical Center is proud to offer volunteer opportunities to local high school students who are looking to gain real life experience in a hospital setting, and for those who want to make a difference in people’s lives.

DMC Junior Volunteers with scholarshipsAt a recent ceremony, the Service League volunteer program at Doctors Medical Center awarded 11 junior volunteers at the hospital with scholarships totaling nearly $24,000, which will go towards their college education.

The following recipients received scholarships: Madison Bates, Briteil Danipour, Meghan Galhano, Andrew Liang, Suzanne Manseau, Haley Mendlin, Isham Moundi, Karishma Narayan, Safa Sareshwala, Lucia Suarez and Christine Woodard.

Funds for the scholarship program at Doctors Medical Center come from profits earned in the volunteer-run hospital gift shop and other fundraisers.

The junior volunteer program requires students maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 and commit to one year of volunteering at the hospital. They learn responsibility as they gain experience and confidence for the future. DMC accepts adult volunteers throughout the year.
