Doctors Medical Center Names Dr. Eric Ramos Chief Medical Officer
Nov 2, 2020Modesto, Calif. – Adrian “Eric” Ramos, M.D., FAAFP, has been appointed as the new Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for Doctors Medical Center in Modesto and the Northern California Group for Tenet Healthcare, effective Nov. 2, 2020.
Tenet’s Northern California Group includes six hospitals: Doctors Medical Center, Doctors Hospital of Manteca, Emanuel Medical Center (Turlock), San Ramon Regional Medical Center, Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center (San Luis Obispo) and Twin Cities Community Hospital (Templeton).
“Dr. Ramos brings a wealth of healthcare leadership experience to this role in which he will focus on helping our hospitals optimize quality of care through rigorous outcome measurements and performance improvement processes,” said Warren Kirk, CEO of Tenet’s Northern California Group. “He is a highly motivated healthcare executive with comprehensive knowledge in leading healthcare teams.”
Dr. Ramos comes to Doctors Medical Center from Long Beach Medical Center in Los Angeles County where he served as CMO. In that role, he oversaw the hospital’s medical staff and the Graduate Medical Education Department, and worked collaboratively with nursing and quality leadership. Prior to that, he served as CMO for the HCA Far West Division – a network of hospitals throughout California and Nevada – for seven years where he led eight division hospitals’ clinical excellence programs.
He is no stranger to Doctors Medical Center or Tenet Health. Dr. Ramos previously served as CMO and medical director for Doctors Medical Center. He also served as Chief of Staff on the Governing Board for Doctors Medical Center.
Dr. Ramos attended the University of California, Irvine and obtained his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Southern California School of Medicine. He completed his family practice residency in Stanislaus County. He was in private practice in the Central Valley for 18 years. Dr. Ramos served on multiple committees including California Academy of Family Physicians, California Medical Association, Medical Leadership Council and Stanislaus Medical Society Board of Directors. He is also a member of the California Academy of Family Physicians, American Academy of Family Physicians and the Stanislaus Medical Society.
