Doctors Medical Center Names Dr. Gabrielle Gaspar Chief Medical Officer
Jun 27, 2018Modesto, Calif. – Gabrielle Gaspar, M.D., has been appointed as the new Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for Doctors Medical Center in Modesto and the Northern California Group for Tenet Healthcare, effective June 25, 2018.
“Dr. Gaspar brings a wealth of healthcare leadership experience to this new dual role in which she will focus on helping our hospitals optimize quality of care through rigorous outcomes measurement and performance improvement processes,” said Warren Kirk, CEO of Tenet’s Northern California Group. “She is a forward-looking leader with particular expertise in emerging care models and their role in addressing the challenges of ensuring high-quality patient experience, creating healthier populations and achieving affordability.”
Dr. Gaspar comes to Doctors Medical Center from the Washington State Department of Corrections in Olympia, Wash., where she served as CMO. In that role, she had clinical oversight of healthcare services for 12 state correctional facilities and was a member of the Governor’s Office Health Leadership Team.
Prior to that, she served in various executive leadership positions at Sutter Physician Services in Sacramento, Calif., including as General Manager and Vice President, Accountable Care; Vice President, Medical Affairs; Medical Director of Clinical Informatics, and Interim Director for Independent Practice Services.
Dr. Gaspar earned her bachelor of arts degree in biology with marine science from Boston University in Boston, Mass.; her master of science degree in science education from Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY; her master of public health degree from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md., and her master of business administration degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn. She received her doctor of medicine degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC, and has board certifications in Family Medicine and Medical Quality.
