Doctors Medical Center Quadruplets All Home from NICU
Apr 9, 2021
The quadruplets born at Doctors Medical Center on New Year’s Eve are now all home from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
The “Quad Squad” received specialized care in our Level III NICU after they were born until they were each ready to go home. Samuel went home first, then Julian followed. Robert and Andrew were later discharged together.
Mom and dad – Tania and Rene Villanueva of Denair – couldn’t be more elated to have all of their baby boys home together. The babies are healthy and continue to grow every day.
The quadruplets were born exactly two minutes apart from each other on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020. Our Labor & Delivery and NICU teams did a wonderful job of preparing for the deliveries. Our unit director held planning meetings with our teams, walked through the various scenarios and as a result of the preparation, the deliveries were like clockwork. This was such a special delivery, especially being on New Year’s Eve, and a beautiful way to end the year.
