Doctors Medical Center Shines Green for Injury Prevention Day
Nov 18, 2022In honor of National Injury Prevention Day on November 18th, Doctors Medical Center’s exterior was shining green. We joined other hospitals and trauma centers across the nation to raise awareness about injury prevention. November 18th is dedicated to educating and empowering communities to make a difference in reducing injuries and deaths.
Doctors Medical Center is a proud Level II Trauma Center with a dedicated injury prevention coordinator. We are also the co-lead agency of Safe Kids Stanislaus. In coordination with our community partners, Doctors Medical Center provides education throughout the year to help prevent injuries and deaths in our community. Our key injury prevention initiatives include child passenger safety, water safety, bicycle and pedestrian safety, safe teen driving, bleeding control (Stop the Bleed) and senior fall prevention.
Most people are surprised to learn that preventable injuries are the leading cause of death for children in the United States. Throughout the world, almost one million children die of an injury each year, and almost every one of these tragedies is preventable. Let’s continue working together to keep our communities safe.
Doctors Medical Center was proud to shine green for National Injury Prevention Day throughout the entire weekend of November 18-20th. Our main entrance shined green, along with our west tower facing Orangeburg.
