Doctors Medical Center Sponsors Walk to Support Survivors of Sexual Assault

Apr 23, 2022

The Director of Respiratory Services at Doctors Medical Center, Joe Garcia, proudly participated in HAVEN's "In Their Shoes" event on April 23, 2022, in downtown Modesto!

The event celebrated 45 years of service to domestic abuse, sexual abuse and human trafficking survivors in Stanislaus County.

Traditionally, this event features hundreds of men walking a mile in red high heels to show their support for victims of sexual assault. Now, anyone is welcome to walk with or without heels. HAVEN wants this event to reflect its commitment to supporting all survivors, regardless of age, gender identity or sexual orientation, through inclusive, client-centered and trauma informed care.

Thank you to Joe and all the participants for supporting such a wonderful cause. Doctors Medical Center is a proud sponsor of this event.

The next “In Their Shoes” walk is scheduled for April 1, 2023. To learn more or to register, visit HAVEN’s website.
