Doctors Medical Center Trains 200 Local Teachers to Stop the Bleed
Nov 2, 2022Doctors Medical Center provided free Stop the Bleed training for approximately 200 teachers and administrators in the Stanislaus Union School District on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, during two sessions at Prescott Junior High School in Modesto.
Stop the Bleed classes focus on recognizing life-threatening bleeding situations, immediate response to bleeding, and techniques to stop the bleeding (pressure dressings, packing wounds and tourniquets). Learning these important skills and techniques could save a life.
A bleeding injury can happen anywhere, at any time. Being prepared is key. Life-threatening bleeding can happen in people injured in serious accidents, disasters or in everyday life. Instead of being a witness, participants can become an immediate responder because they will know how to Stop the Bleed.
The team at Doctors Medical Center provides free Stop the Bleed training for community members every month, in addition to traveling around the area training local agencies and organizations. If you’re interested in having a course at your facility, please contact Rena Bryant at [email protected].
