Light the Night Supports Families Who’ve Experienced Pregnancy or Infant Loss
Oct 15, 2022In honor of Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day, Doctors Medical Center hosted a memorial for local mothers and their families.
We hosted Light the Night in our Cancer Survivor Garden, a special evening for community members who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss. For many parents, the overwhelming grief that comes with losing a child sometimes becomes a silent battle. In a time of mourning, having community awareness and support can play a critical role for grieving families. Doctors Medical Center wants the community know we are here to support them and they are not alone.
Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day honors the babies lost to miscarriage, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), stillbirth and other incidents. It’s a time to help shatter the culture of silence surrounding infant and pregnancy loss.
If you have a loved one who has experienced this loss, take the time to give them the love and support needed to process and recover.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Light the Night to help us raise awareness about pregnancy and infant loss, and support each other. Thank you to our team members in postpartum, labor and delivery, neonatal, social services and our hospital chaplain for their incredible work organizing the event.
