Doctors Behavioral Health Center Offering New Program for Mental Health Patients
Jan 10, 2019
Doctors Behavioral Health Center is now offering a new outpatient program for patients dealing with mental health issues.
The Partial Hospitalization Program helps patients whose psychiatric illness is impairing their ability to function successfully in their lives, and where traditional outpatient therapy services are not sufficient to meet their needs.
Here is how the program works:
- Each patient receives a psychiatric evaluation and an individualized treatment plan.
- Treatment team meetings, which include a board-certified psychiatrist, registered nurse, licensed social worker and activity therapist, take place weekly to review each patient’s ongoing progress and treatment, as well as plan for care after discharge.
- Treatment modalities include group and individual therapy, family meetings and medication management.
The program runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Individual patient needs and response to treatment determines length of stay in the program. Partial Hospitalization participants benefit from returning home in the evenings and maintaining important connections to their family, friends and community. This allows them the opportunity to practice new skills and promote confidence, independence and develop positive changes.
Patients may be referred to the Doctors Behavioral Health Center Partial Hospitalization Program by physicians, mental health professionals, employee assistance programs and community agencies for: mood disorder/depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, life transitions, and relationship and family issues.
