Dr. Eric Ramos, Chief Medical Officer of Doctors Medical Center and Tenet’s Northern California Group, spoke with The Modesto Bee about the current status of COVID-19 and what we’re seeing within our hospitals. Check out the article for his insight.

Unfortunately, the number of COVID-19 cases within Stanislaus County hospitals remains high. We’re hoping to see numbers plateau and drop in a few weeks as more people get vaccinated and follow recommendations put forth by public health.

Getting vaccinated is one of many steps you can take to protect yourself and your loved ones from COVID-19. Vaccines work with your immune system so your body will be ready to fight the virus if you are exposed. Other steps – like hand washing, masking and social distancing while around others not in your household – help reduce your chance of being exposed to the virus or spreading it to others. Together, COVID-19 vaccination and following CDC’s recommendations to protect yourself and others will offer the best protection from COVID-19.
